學(xué)習(xí)用英語(yǔ)寫作是培養(yǎng)英語(yǔ)思維能力的重要途徑之一,有了一定的英語(yǔ)思維能力,英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)就能產(chǎn)生一個(gè)相應(yīng)的飛躍。因此,在高中階段指導(dǎo)、培養(yǎng)學(xué)生寫英語(yǔ)作文是不容等閑視之的。

通過(guò)縮寫和改寫課文,培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的概括能力、想象能力?s寫課文會(huì)激勵(lì)學(xué)生去認(rèn)真鉆研課文內(nèi)容,有助于加深學(xué)生對(duì)課文的理解,提高學(xué)生歸納總結(jié)和進(jìn)行簡(jiǎn)要表達(dá)的能力?s寫課文允許改動(dòng)原意,不允許刪去主要內(nèi)容。縮寫課文一般應(yīng)該用自己的話來(lái)寫,不能只停留在拼湊原文的詞句上,也不要逐句、逐段照原文去改寫。這些均通過(guò)示例讓學(xué)生明白和掌握,并在實(shí)踐中讓他們仔細(xì)加以體會(huì)。改寫課文可以培養(yǎng)學(xué)生舉一反三的語(yǔ)言表達(dá)能力,熟練掌握英語(yǔ)表達(dá)方法,促使學(xué)生去鉆研、去思考,調(diào)動(dòng)學(xué)習(xí)的積極性,學(xué)生把學(xué)過(guò)的知識(shí)運(yùn)用到實(shí)際中去,這對(duì)于提高英語(yǔ)水平大有裨益。改寫,除了我們通常所說(shuō)的句子、段落的釋義之外,還包括用其他體裁改寫整篇課文。
如在學(xué)習(xí)了"The Lost Necklace"(《項(xiàng)鏈》)、"Tailor's Shop"(《百萬(wàn)英鎊》)等課文后,我引導(dǎo)學(xué)生把這些課文進(jìn)行改寫,以英語(yǔ)劇的形式表演出來(lái),這就要求學(xué)生不僅要讀這兩個(gè)故事的原文或改寫本,更要求他們把已學(xué)過(guò)的知識(shí)運(yùn)用到實(shí)際中,圍繞劇情,根據(jù)角色的身份、職業(yè)特點(diǎn)、社會(huì)文化背景等進(jìn)行增加或刪改,提高了他們運(yùn)用語(yǔ)言的能力。
此外,鍛煉學(xué)生運(yùn)用其它體裁改寫整篇文章。如高二"A Famous Detective"寫著名偵探福爾摩斯的故事是以第三人稱敘述的,故事中的人物有大偵探福爾摩斯、助手華生、小姐、叔叔等。我讓學(xué)生發(fā)揮各自的優(yōu)勢(shì),用各種體裁和形式,對(duì)原文進(jìn)行改寫。有的改寫成了劇本,我就組織幾個(gè)學(xué)生分角色表演;有的'學(xué)生用第一人稱來(lái)敘事,以故事中的某一個(gè)角色為"我",來(lái)重新構(gòu)造故事;還有的發(fā)揮充分的想象,將"毒蛇"擬人化,來(lái)敘述故事等等。學(xué)生們興意昂然,自由發(fā)揮,身臨其境,創(chuàng)造情景,全班有多一半的同學(xué)參加了有表情的表演、朗誦等課堂展示活動(dòng),不僅鍛煉了他們的想象能力,也鍛煉了學(xué)生們的寫作能力。

Every morning, as soon as the alarm clock wakes me up, I get out of bed and go into the bathroom, sleepy-eyed. After taking off my clothes, I rub my body to stimulate circulation. Then I turn the faucet on. A hissing avalanche of water foams down my body in cold sheets. I close my eyes, not thinking about anything, so that I can better enjoy the cool sensation and pleasurable prickliness of the cold spray. I stay this way for about two minutes.
When I finish, I dry myself with a towel, put on my clothes and step out of the bathroom refreshed and relaxed.
